“How much will it cost per month?” is the first question every business asks, and most provider websites answer it with a per-minute rate and nothing else. Here is the whole picture, every line item, and three worked examples you can match to your own team.

Per-second billing: why it matters more than the rate

Two providers quote “40 paisa per minute”. One bills per minute, one per second. On a real business call pattern with lots of short calls, the difference is around 25 to 30%.

A 1 minute 10 second call:

  • Per-minute billing: rounded up to 2 minutes = 80 paisa
  • Per-second billing: 70 seconds = 46.7 paisa

A 20-second “are you available for delivery?” call:

  • Per-minute billing: 1 minute = 40 paisa
  • Per-second billing: 20 seconds = 13.3 paisa

If you make 100 short calls a day, per-second billing saves more than the plan fee. When comparing providers, ask the pulse before you ask the rate.

Example 2: 10-person support team (Pro)

A diagnostic centre’s appointment line in Dhanmondi. Four staff answer, six doctors have extensions. About 2,000 outgoing minutes a month (result notifications, confirmations), and they want recordings for disputes.

What you are not paying for

Compared with the alternatives, these costs disappear:

  • PABX hardware: ৳15,000–৳70,000 plus phones and cabling. See Cloud PBX vs PABX.
  • A technician for every change.
  • A SIM per employee and the admin of topping each one up.
  • Lost calls when the one phone is busy: with 2–10 channels, the second caller rings through.
  • The number leaving with an employee. Reassign the extension in a minute.

How to keep the bill low

  1. Encourage call-backs on the IP number. Incoming is free; a 10-minute incoming call costs you nothing.
  2. Use extensions for internal calls instead of mobiles. Free.
  3. Keep IVR greetings short. The caller’s time on the menu is on their bill, not yours, but a long menu makes people hang up and call again.
  4. Record campaign messages under 30 seconds. Bulk voice cost is pure listened seconds.
  5. Don’t over-buy channels. Channels are simultaneous calls, not staff. Ten people rarely need ten channels; Pro’s five is usually enough for ten extensions.

Payment

Recharge from the portal with bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express through SSLCommerz. The monthly plan is billed from the same balance, and the balance does not expire, so pay for three months at once if that is easier for your accounts.
