Business Phone Number for Your Facebook Page in Bangladesh (F-commerce Guide)

Why F-commerce sellers lose orders on a personal mobile number, what a 096 business number fixes, what it costs, and how to set one up in a day.

Most Facebook shops in Bangladesh run on the owner’s personal mobile number. It works until the day it doesn’t: the phone is busy, the owner is at the courier office, a customer calls at 11 pm, or the one person who holds the SIM leaves. This guide shows what a proper business number costs for an F-commerce page, what it changes, and how to set it up in about a day.

The problem with a personal number on a page

Open any busy Facebook shop and look at the “Call now” button. It usually points to an 017 or 018 number that belongs to a person. Four things go wrong:

  1. One phone, one call at a time. When you are on a call with one customer, the next one hears “busy” and messages a competitor instead.
  2. Nobody else can answer. Your packer, your delivery coordinator, your cousin who helps on Fridays: none of them can take calls on your number unless you hand over the phone.
  3. No record. “I told you the blue one.” “No, you said black.” Without a recording, the return comes out of your margin.
  4. The number is you. Customers save your personal number and call about orders for years. If you ever change staff or sell the page, the number goes with the person.

An IP business number (the 096 numbers you see on bigger shops) fixes all four for about the price of a shipping fee per week.

What a business number gives an F-commerce page

With a Cloud PBX behind it, one 096 number does these things:

  • Rings several phones. Up to 5 people on the Basic plan can answer the same number from their own mobiles using the free Zoiper app. The call goes to whoever is free.
  • Takes two or more calls at once. Channels are simultaneous calls. Basic gives 2, Pro gives 5. A second customer no longer hears “busy”.
  • Greets callers with a menu. “Press 1 for order status, press 2 to place a new order.” Your delivery coordinator takes option 1 and you take option 2.
  • Records every call. Add call recording from ৳99 a month and every “I told you blue” is settled in 30 seconds from the portal.
  • Stays with the business. The number is registered to your trade license, not to an employee’s NID.
  • Looks established. A 096 number on a page tells a first-time buyer this is a business, not a person who might disappear after bKash payment.

It also works the other way round. Your staff can call customers back from the business number, so your personal mobile stays private and customers see one consistent number on every call.

What it costs

Item Amount
096 business number Free with any plan
Basic plan (5 extensions, 2 channels, IVR) ৳500 / month
Pro plan (10 extensions, 5 channels) ৳750 / month
Outgoing calls 35 paisa + 15% VAT per minute, per second
Incoming calls Free
Call recording (optional) from ৳99 / month
One-time setup ৳1,000 (Basic), ৳500 (Pro), ৳0 (Enterprise)

A worked example for a page doing 20 to 30 orders a day with two people answering:

  • Basic plan: ৳500
  • Call-backs to customers: about 600 minutes a month at ৳0.35 = ৳210, plus VAT ৳32
  • Recording: ৳99
  • About ৳840 a month, plus ৳1,000 setup in the first month.

Incoming order calls cost nothing no matter how many you take. You recharge from the portal with bKash, Nagad, Rocket, or a card, and the balance never expires. Run your own numbers in the bill calculator.

How to set it up (one day, no hardware)

  1. Send three documents on WhatsApp: NID of the owner, a photo, and the trade license. Operators are required to verify number owners; the documents checklist shows what an accepted copy looks like.
  2. Pick your plan and number. Basic is enough for most pages. Ask us for a number that is easy to read in a Facebook post, with repeated digits if available.
  3. We build your menu. Tell us who answers what. A simple two-option IVR in Bangla is ready the same day; our IVR guide has scripts you can copy.
  4. Install Zoiper on each phone. Five minutes per phone with the Zoiper setup guide. No IP phones to buy.
  5. Update the page. Change the “Call now” button, the About section, your order confirmation template, and the number on your packaging. Pin a post announcing the new number so regulars update their contacts.

The number is live within 24 hours of document approval.

Tips that pay for the plan

  • Record a Bangla greeting that confirms the shop name in the first three seconds. Callers who dialled from a Facebook post want to know they reached the right shop.
  • Add an after-hours message with your delivery hours and “message us on the page”. It is better than an unanswered ring, and it costs nothing.
  • Give the delivery coordinator their own extension. “Where is my parcel?” calls are half of F-commerce volume and should not land on the owner.
  • Use recordings for training. Play your best order call to a new helper. It is faster than explaining.
  • Put the number in the pinned post, the cover photo, and the auto-reply. A number that is easy to find reduces “is this shop real?” messages.

Should you keep the old mobile number?

Yes, for a while. Keep the old SIM in a phone and record a short message on your Cloud PBX saying the shop has moved to the new number. Or simply answer the old number and mention the new one. After two or three months of orders coming to the 096 number, you can retire the old one from public view and keep it for personal use.

FAQ

Can I use a 096 business number on a Facebook page’s Call button?

Yes. Enter the number in the page’s contact info and the Call Now button dials it like any other number. Callers on any mobile network can reach it.

Do I need an office or a landline to get a business number?

No. The number is cloud-based. You and your helpers answer on your own smartphones through the Zoiper app, from home, the shop, or the courier counter.

Can customers call me on WhatsApp with this number?

A 096 number is a voice number for calls from any phone. For WhatsApp chat, keep your WhatsApp Business account on a mobile SIM and put both the 096 number and the WhatsApp number on the page: calls to one, chat to the other.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Calls to your number can be forwarded to a mobile number you choose, so customers still reach you. Ask us to set the fallback when you sign up.

Is a business number worth it for a small page?

If you miss even two orders a month because the line was busy or nobody answered, the Basic plan has paid for itself. Most pages find the recordings alone are worth the fee.
